Give your staff the skills to teach the future

Cura’s Professional Development program takes staff from PBL novice to expert.

Change isn’t hard when staff know how.

It isn’t just students who must think and work differently across a PBL unit. Educators also require different skills. And that’s hard for some staff. It’s a change, and change can be scary. Fear of the new makes it harder to drive and implement change.

Cura’s Professional Development program helps staff embrace PBL and deliver high-quality hands-on, real-world learning. It gives them the skills to approach a changing curriculum with confidence.

Every teacher an expert.

Too often, Professional Learning is a one-off sugar hit. Staff do one session and are expected to become overnight experts. Or to immediately embed different skills all at once. That never works.

Cura’s Staff PL spans multiple sessions to scaffold and build your staff’s skills. We’re no one-hit wonder – we’ll engage with your staff over time to ensure the skills stick. We’ll work with them when they implement their first units to help them put the theory into practice.

Schools using the Cura program often find that staff have the skills to go it alone after 12-24 months. That’s what we call a return on investment.

Cura PD Program - Overview.jpg

Tailored PD that won’t put you to sleep.

Too often, PD feels like a university lecture that will never end. But if you don’t want students to learn like that, why should teachers be expected to learn the same way?

Cura’s PD is interactive and implementation-focused. It provides staff with an immediate toolkit to apply in their classrooms. What’s more, it’s flexible – a full-day, half-day, or a one-hour session – so you can fit it around your busy calendar. We can run it online or we’ll come to you and deliver it on site.

“Cura’s Professional Learning was exceptionally well received by all our senior staff. It had its desired effect – our people are very excited about the prospect of integrating PBL into their teaching!”
